Casino Gaming Goes 3D

Lucien Barriere Hotels and Casinos is set to launch the world's first "truly 3D" online casinos at its website LeCroupier.com, to be based on its real-life casino in the northern France coastal city of Deauville.

"Whatever players find in the casino in Deauville, the will find in LeCroupier.com," the company said in a statement.

"LeCroupier.com is set to provide a brand new way to play online.

"Whether players are looking for a little entertainment or genuine 3D casino gambling, they will find it at LeCroupier.com - creating their own virtual characters from a series of life-like avatars in a 'dressing room' area. Using their avatar players will then be able to look around the casino, talk to other players while at the tables and play a few games of roulette and blackjack or even try their luck on the slots."

The online casino will be based completely on its land-based equivalent, which is home to the PokerStars.net European Poker Tour event.

The site is expected to open for business in March. Previews, including a trailer, a video on the making of the characters and an explanation on the 3D process, are all available already at LeCroupier.com.

LeCroupier is also offering interested applicants the chance to be a part of the Beta testing process.
